RE: 1999 Triumph Daytona 1200 advise

Thanks for the info. I did buy the bike, and will soon have the carbs taken care of. I have put about 300 miles on it in its current condition. I find the ride really good and as you say there in plenty of power. It takes curves well if you set them up right, but sweepers and straights seem to be its real strengh. I have not taken it above 7,000 RPM yet as I need to get used to this. My prior experience is with my 2004 Road Star 1700 and they are very different rides. I had synthetic engine oil put in as well as changing the gear box oil and brake fluid before I took delivery as this bike essentially just sat in a garage for six years. Best is that the windscreen protects the chest well and I get absolutely no wind buffeting at speed. At my height (6ยด4 1/2") I get clean air at the top of my shoulders and helmet which I find ideal.
