Keep reading, the top bit\\īs just background but I do need help...
I recently bought a nice shiny \\ī05 reg T100 Bonneville only to have issues with a damaged cam shaft. I got the cam repaired under warranty but the dealer isn\\īt keen on stripping the whole engine down to inspect the lower end (the cam damage looked like an oil delivery issue).
I really like the bike and think the repairs will do the job but want to get some confidence back in the engine so I\\īve decided to get some oil samples analysed for excessive wear so I can prove if the lower end is alright or not. This means I need a couple of comparator engines to take samples from and I was wondering if anyone would mind sending me three at various intervals as described below:
1. Following Oil/Filter change (i.e. new oil from the engine).
2. After 250 miles
3. After 500 miles
The engine needs to be an 865cc carb model and have done less than 3.5k miles and I\\īll need the samples between Sept 2010 and Nov 2010 to get the results back while the bike\\īs still under warranty.
I\\īll pay for your samples to be analysed and send you the results, I just need your oil. If you can help, please email me \\
