I changed the oil on my gl500 tonight, I had been having the mechanic do spring and fall service but I decided I\\\´d do it myself this time, since the rest of the bike seems to stay in pretty good tune between servicings. On the schematic for the fuel filter assembly, Honda shows a washer that comes after the spring and before the filter. There wasn\\\´t one in my bike and the kit didn\\\´t come with one.
Q: Should I bother to go back to Honda to get the washer, or is it OK to continue to ride it without until next change (fall). I just put about 8,000 km on it since the last oil change, and I doubt the washer was there even then.
