98 Triumph Sprint Executive discussion forum: not running good

my triumph is in trouble.i have been thru the carburetors a few times but does not help the running.it run good for a few minutes and starts to miss,backfires and spits back thru the carbs.has anyone ever had issues with the ignition system on the sprint?
