There are some really good small 2 & 4 strokes out but personalyif its his 1st bike I would recommend the 4-stroke. Mostly just because they are a bit less intimidating, easier to maintain and are just all around a bit more user friendly. Not to mention the fact that thats the wave of the fuure of motorcycling in general.Either way good luck and I hpe you have a GREAT motorcyclin experience. dan-#27
