82 Suzuki GS 550 M Katana discussion forum: grandad

As I\´m retired I thought I would rebuild a motor bike and have bought a 1981 GS550 Katana its near completion but I\´m stuck on the fitting of a Motag 4-1 exhaust I bought a Decent looking S/H one but I cannot see where the down pipes fit into the cylinder head so they all go into the collector box (don\´t know the proper name for it) of the silencer I was assurred that the exhaust was for a 1981 GS 550. There doesn\´t appear to be any identification on either pipes or silencer to assist. Help would be most appreciated. Thank you, Grandad
