I have found a little more info. I am told the noise is from the straight cut gears on the clutch basket and drive. This makes sense if you think about the noise a manual transmission makes when in reverse (with straight cut gears). I check with a dealer and my 1999 has had the basket changed out on the recall but it still makes noise with little torque mostly between 45-65 mph. I plan on changing oil to see if that may help. Does anyone have a suggestion on oil type and weight?
