I\´m joining this discussion group because I couldn\´t find a 1981 group and the 1981 and 1982 Silverwings are almost identical (there are very few left on the roads). I love my 1981 Silverwing and wouldn\´t trade it for an 08 Harley. It has 8250 total actual miles on it and I still ride it all over the Texas Hill Country. Yes, the RPM\´s run high, but that\´s typical for this model. It will run all day at 70mph and not overheat. Great ride with a bullet proof engine that just keeps going and going and going.
