The oil level is overfilled by about one quart or two. You will find that 5 quarts of oil is the magic number for the Vulcan 2000. Of course, you prime the oil filter first with oil, then add 5 quarts to total about 5 1/2 quarts of oil per oil change. You can go six quarts with no problems, if you stay under 70 miles per hour, but any more oil or speed will pump oil vapor into the air filter from the breather. Prime the oil filter then add five quarts of oil and all should be well. You can also try a 50/50 mix blend of 20/50w oil and 10/30w oil in the summer and this will thicken the oil so it will not vaporize and condense in the air filter only to drip out. Of that mix, one quart should be a synthetic oil to stabilize the oil mix.
