I am a 28 year old retired shop teacher, trapped in a 58 year old shell. I have owned and ridden many metric cruisers currently a 1100 Honda Shadow. I have several long hours… ridden BMW’s, Gold Wings, Kawai’s and a few Italian versions and have an opportunity to get a 98 FXSTC with full Screaming Eagle engine modifications, dual straights, full of chrome with about 15K on the odo. Extremely well kept, stored warm, constantly detailed and excellently mechanically maintained. Asking is 9K.
A basic question is, the metrics are so very low maintenance… just oil and every other year plugs and air filter, and coolant and she’s good to go. What would I expect with the HD? I expect to put on about 3 to 5K per year, but who kows.. maybe more, maybe less.
