I have a 2002 concours. About 5 weeks ago my bike became very hard to down shift. I put it in the shop and they informed me that the clip ring on the end of the shift drum had jumped off. The mechanic said that it bent the shaft on the drum and it had to be replaced. I got the bike back and now it down shifts great. However, now sometimes when I shift from first to second it sticks in neutral. This happens about one in every shift from 1st to 2nd. I have tried to adjust the shift linkage and this has not helped. I have put it back in the shop but the mechanic does not know what would cause this. This mechanic works at the Kawasaki dealership and has about twenty years experience. He also said he has never seen the clip ring jump off off a shift drum before. Does anyone know what might be causing my current ship problem
