I just got my 07 ultra out of the shop for pushrod noise and had 2 replaced along with an oxgen sensor. It only has about 3400 miles on it. It was done under warranty but still has some noise. Im not sure what is causing your pinging but I would suspect the way its mapped for epa. Im sure you have returned it to the dealer for your free harley remap which actually did help my with heat. Im really getting concerned about these new motors and am wishing I had kept my 05. This is really about it for me and harley davidson if this bike lets me down and the motor co dont get these things right because they know of the problems. They need to pull their head out of the dirt and fix these things before they damage the hard renewed reputation and also quit being so cheap with parts to save money for them. I guess I didnothelp you much but this has been my experience so far. Good luck.
