i did London to Berlin in a single day, it\´s 900 miles in a yzf 750, and it\´s the top that i can recommend. I would recommend you to cross the channel in the afternoon, sleep in a cheap place in france, and start riding very early in the morning.
Check the top speed because there is a big jump in fuel compsumption if you cross the 160 - 180 barrier. Sometimes going slower leads you to stop few times less for petrol and the overal time is shorter.
