Question about oil pressure
|Question about oil pressure|

I have a rather odd problem. My bike is a 79 CM400T. I\īm experiencing an oil leak from the upper most gasket on the engine. The leak begins at higher RPM\īs, and slows to a stop when RPMs are downed. Now here\īs the odd part, there are no breaks in the gasket and even stranger is that the leak is spuradic, happing one day but not the next. Here\īs my theory, for some reason I\īm getting too much pressure in my engine. I know it sounds odd but when I unscrew my oil cap directly after turning off my engine I get a very strong burst of steam conjoined by a small stream of oil and I\īm fairly certain that didn\īt happen last season. I dont know a whole lot about oil pressure so I\īve tryed the things I know of, changed my oil/filter, ensured oil levels were within proper levels, but the leak pursists. I\īm wondering if there\īs some sort of oil relief valve somewhere that may be out of whack? Thanks in advance for any help.
