Sounds a bit like its not actually comming from your engine or exhaust! I would have thought it would be coming from an overflow from your carb, then running down looking as if it is appearing from the engine cace and exhaust. thid could be because your float in the carburettor bowl may be set to the wrong height. let me know if this helps Peter.
