It is easy to tell the year/model from the serial number, and also by the changes that were made to the 2001 model. Most easy to spot are the side panels, tank, turn indicators and front discs, that have black centers while 2001 have golden coloured centers. These differences I have found by looking the both model´s pics and brochures. There are said to be 200 different updated things in the 2001 model. It´s hard to tell if all year models are the same in different markets.
