My uncle from Missouri gave me a Yamaha 500 about two years ago. He died in March 05 and I told him I would restore the bike. It sat in the woods for about 15-20 years and hadn´t been ran. He said the timing was off but now after a closer look I need to get new cables, tires, etc, etc. Now that I´m 16 and working construction steadily, my goal is to save money for the resto this summer. I´ve been riding motorcycles since I was 8 (first bike was a Yamaha so I´m partial to them). To the point, any hints to get started? I have a breakdown manual of the bike and from looking at it, all the parts. This is my first restoration of any kind of bike. My plan is to break the bike down and paint the frame, the whole nine yards. Any replies would be appreciated. Bob
