Ok, got a problem with my clutch. When I start the bike and let it warm up, if I try to kick it into first gear it will leap forward slightly and die. Sometimes there is a small grinding sound. Usually once the oil warms up this problem decreases, but still occurs.
Once the bike is moving getting into first gear is no problem. During rides however there is sometime a problem where the bike will kick into neutral instead of second gear and I have to give it an extra click to get it to go. Then at the end of long rides it is very difficult to find neutral when parked.
I have adjusted the clutch freeplay to manufacturers specs, and I have put in a lighter oil which helped for a bit but the problem is still prominent as ever.
I think the friction plates are probably worn past specs, or the clutch hub is scored or warped. Any thoughts?
