I own a Yamaha YZF600 and a Kawasaki Ninja ZX600RR and I am just learning to ride. I would have to say if you are just learning as I am you should really go and look at the Suzuki SV650! My friend owns one and they are a great bike to learn on. You are about the same height I am and I can reach the ground just fine on the SV. It is a pretty light weight bike...easy to hold up. Go and visit a Suzuki dealership and sit on it...you will love the feel. I won´t even learn to ride on the two bikes I own. The YZF600 is a little over 400lbs. I really recommend checking out the Suzuki SV650!!! Let me know how everything turns out.
