74 Honda CB 125 SS discussion forum: starting problem

I recently purchased this classic bike and unfortunately knew little about it. after riding it for the first time I parked it with the fuel lever on "on" and the kill switch on run. after about a day or so I attempted to kick start it and was unable to get it to start. Any advice on what to do now?
