I have had a 200 since october 2001. There were initial problems with the fuel-injection system which have never been satisfactorily dealt with. The acceleration is very on/off and smooth riding is hard to achieve. It also pre-ignites (Pinks) when the engine is warm and under load. Despite several diagnostic visits to Prestige BMW of Bexleyheath the problem persists. It does not seem to be petrol brand related and I am currently running a Broquet fuel tank catalyst to no apparent avail. Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
