99 Yamaha FZS 600 Fazer discussion forum: Engine stall

I have a 2000 model fazer, however it has developed a problem after riding for 80miles it suddenly starts to cut out. I have cleaned the carbs, replaced the inline filters, replaced the airfilter also. If you keep turning it over on the starter it will usually fire again after 30 seconds. The spark plug cables appear to be fine.If you continue to try and ride the problem becomes progressively worse to the point that it will cut out every mile or so. The bike exhibits none of these problems on short runs. I live in Uganda and therefore getting decent mechanical service is virtually impossible. Any ideas what the poblem may be?
