Go for the unfaired model. Fairings are expensive to repair/replace and unless you ride at higher speeds you won´t notice the difference in weather/wind protection. Also makes servicing easier and if someone accidentally knocks your parked bike over ( I lost a GSXR this way) you won´t be up for huge costs in panel repairs. The GS500 still looks great unfaired ( and I believe is a brilliant bike that can be deceptively quick on the road)
