I just bought this scooter and i have to say im very imprest by its performance. On the flat road, single charge in the nonpower mode you can go aprox. 40-50km. The acceleration is very good and its powerfull to climb a quite high slopes. The charging time from an almost empty to full battery is 7hours. No pedals can be installed and no extra battery pack can be attached. Overall im very happy i bought this scooter and i have only possitive things to say about it. There is one thing im not so happy with and that is the lack of option to turn the headlights off, perhaps you have this option in the US version but here in Sweden you dont. This option would probably increas the life of the battery and with this range.
