Recently bought a 1981 1000cc Ltd Ed. Sportster (541 of 1000) 17,225 miles. I am the 3rd owner, last owner had the bike 14 years and put 4,000 miles on it. I put new rubber, brakes and rear chain on it. I have put about 200 miles on it and it is beginning to back fire. I added some sea foam to to fuel, am giving it the once over to tighten everything up from vibration. It is loud, has the drag pipes and I understand that this can make the bike run rich. I like the bike and want to do right by it. Any advice would be appreciated.
