On the road again

I have successfully breathed life back into a 1983 CB1000C and it is the smoothest and fastest bike I have owned to date. I eliminated the automatic fuel valve and am wondering about the necessity of this multi tubed medusa like gadget. Someone kindly convince me why I should install it back........other than being factory original.Technical advice preferred. Sure runs great without it and carbs are not leaking. What a great bike I have stumbled across.
