Try checking the screw on the ground wire. Had the same issue with mine, and a replacement screw has fixed it. As for the brakes, I had the same issue. Took it in and had the pads cleaned, and still no luck. Then I noticed a buildup around the front brakes / bearings and took it in. They used some sort of spray to clean up the grease, and now it\´s great. Squealing has vanished completely.
