Hello I purchased my sportster about 18 months ago. Privately so there was no warrenty. I have been working on my last break down as of the 21st of May it will be a year. Sad I know. Any how I was driving the bike started back firing and died. I mean died. I replaced the starter relay first then the egnition switch got power to everything but once I hit the switch the starter would not shut off when I let go.I was told by our local HD shop the cylanoid in the starter needed to be replaced so I tore the bike down rebuilt the sylanoid still nothing new. Next I replaced the starter switch.Still the starter will not shut down untill the battery dies or I unhook the battery. The bike never starts but I want to get the starter fixed befor I tackle a new issue. I\´m no machanic by no means but I figured If Im gunna drive it I better know how to fix it. Any help suggestions of any kind are welcome.
