05 BMW F 650 CS discussion forum: battery charging

Next to the key slot, there is a slot to put in plug connected to the low amp maintenance battery charging. The charger is OK, however, the charging is not happening any more. What could caused not charging battery any more (battery is fine and is receiving charging when connected directly on its + and - poles)?
