I have owned two 1982 GL500 silver wings. I bought one in 82 which I think, was the last year they were manufactured. You can find many parts for them at the Honda shops around the country. However I have located many parts in the J. C. Whitney catalog. There is a modification you can safely make to raise the rear carrier upward to form a back rest for the second rider. My wife and I has taken several long trips and it works very nicely. You may also buy motor guards that will allow you to install foot pegs to rest your feet on. This will rest your legs on a long trip. There are several assessories that will spiff up your cycle, but be careful not to overload your alternator with electrical devices. It is not designed for a large load of electrical assessories. Also be careful not to operate your cycle with a bad battery, this may also cause damage to your alternator. Have fun and be safe ..... Jim
