Being an owner of only four Honda bikes and riding them for the total of seven years, in Industry terms I am perhaps merely a novice rider, but this Honda guy has found true love.
Review of the VFR 800 VTEC submitted on 2004-11-11.

As previously mentioned I have owned and ridden only Honda motorcycles so I am very perdisposed to their handeling and smooth running reliabiility. I recently was encouraged by my wife to purchase another bike for my long (98 mile) round trip commute to work. Without hesitation I embraced her apparhent momentary insanity and bought a ´04 Honda 919. Its rugged looks, large displacement and classic charcteristics were exactly what I was looking for, so I thought. I found the bike very nimble and a downright torque monster from the first flick of the throttle. She loved twisty turns through the city and required only a gentle nudge to break the rear end out in low speed turns, a fun and exciting date, but I was looking for a relationship to endure the long haul. After 2000 miles of lusty driving and 100 mph winds directly in the face, we found ourselves needing space, it was too intence. You see I am now a thirty year old dad and as fun while it lasted I realized my needs had changed. The local Honda dealer was happy to see her back as well happy to sign the contract to trade her in on a more ospicious mate. While parting ways with Maria ( I know naming them is dorky, whatever) amid the typical breakup lines; it´s me not you sweety, I couldn´t help but find my eye wandering over the sexy lines of the woman in red!
As soon as we met there was quite a bit of innocent flirting at first, rubbing my hand down her smooth seat and getting two full hands around that lucious red tank. Interceptor was blazened across the rear cowl, very appropriate.Needless to say we now spend many a long afternoon together. She is a little more soft spoken at first, you know in the lower RPM´s, almost daring me to rev her harder and open those other 8 valves releasing a wild scream of passion felt by us both.....okay this is getting carried away.Anyway, the bike is much more refined like the feel of a BMW M3, the throaty exhaust lets you know the power is there if needed. The throttle responce was fluid like and the braking utterly predictable. I find the persence of ABS reassuring wheather I utilize it or not. The handle bar and seat layout provide several riding positions either cozy in a full tuck or cruising upright. Needless to say her trophy wife looks sieze grins from passers by and I find myself engrossed in the digital display of more information than one can soak up in a single glance. The mirrors provide a perfect 180 degree reward view and the dual halogens light up the track befor you like a dance floor. All this and she protects me from those harsh insect filled Florida summer´s night winds, no matter what the velosity. Taking her home that day felt like I had stolen someone elses bike, someone more celebrated, someone with more money, but alas she will stay with me the long haul, this will be a long love affair between my VFR 800, Trinity and me. :)
