Owner of a 1985 Honda Shadow VT500 C. First bike, just love it. It has power but you have to ride it hard...but fun!!! Review of the VT 500 C submitted on 2008-03-07.
I bought this bike back in May 2007. Ive put almost 5000 miles on it. It does great in curves, now that I have the front tire at the right PSI, 31 for hard curves, 36 for street, 33 All around. I´m 5´10 with short legs and I have no problem sitting on it and touching the ground, just with my highway pegs I cant really stretch out. SO I just sit on the sissy seat when I´m heading for a long ride. It has little power when I roll the throttle back all slow an granny like. But the second you rip that throttle open she bolts off the line. Top speed ive had it was 115 MPH and she still had more in her. And 60 MPH in about 4 secs just counting in my head so not quite sure.
Its a pain in the butt getting the carbs out, the air box is a bad design, but other then that just change fluids it goes FOREVER!!!
it sat for about 15 years and now has almost 40,000 miles on it
